Being in this profession I’m constantly around great food which I love.
Your surrounded by food how do you stay in shape ?
Somali genes are responsible for that.
I hear your mom is your biggest fan, will she be throwing a premier party for you on Dec 4th when the show premiers ? What will you be doing on premiere night btw ?
We will be having a premire party at “Watch What Happens Live” studios in Manhattan. After that I will be a guest on the “Watch What Happens Live”show hosted by Andy Cohen.

After doing a worldwind of press for his show ( Roble and Co )Roble Ali talks to me at last. A friend of the blog, and a fellow blogger here on Tumblr, I am happy to get Roble to answer some questions about his new reality show on Bravo and life.
Roblé and Co premiers on Dec 4th how did this reality show come about ?
I had the idea for the show in my head for a year. My talent agency Maxx Talent took me ober to Redline Productions. I told them my idea. A few months later I had a television deal with Bravo. It happened incredibly fast.
How was it like having cameras follow you around?
It’s very challenging. Catering events is stressful enough without having to be slowed down by cameras all of the time but it is all worth it and I am very thankful.
You live in New York, its your home, its where the show is based, what do you love about New York and how is the food scene there ?
I’m very lucky to be a professional chef in NYC. It’s the culinary capitol of the world. I’ve been able to work with and for some really amazing people. The food scene in NYC is very diverse and ever changing.

So a while back I thought of doing interviews. It’s was hard to choose who I wanted to interview. The way I went about it was who do I want to get to know more that I don’t already know. The first person I chose was Abdi Farah. I recently just got to know of Abdi Farah after I started this blog. Its been nice to meet so many creative Somalis. What can I say about Abdi. He is remarkably talented guy. He grew up with art (thanks to his mom), and prior to being on Bravo’s Work of Art, which he won by the way in 2010, he was pretty accomplished as a young artist. In 2005, he was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. He was also one of four students in America in 2005 to recieve the Scholastics Arts Gold medal. He currently lives in Brooklyn.
Many don’t know this, but Somali Beauty and model Ayan Elmi is taken. The lucky guy whose won her heart is Celebrity Chef Roblé Ali . Cool thing is you guys will actually be able to see them together when she makes an appearance on his upcoming Bravo TV show this fall. More on that later.
